come and check our website www.myspace.com/ukos iris NEWS In the past couple of months things have been really busy for us, we have been signed to dyskfunctional records in Los Angles and we will be flying out there in the summer to start the destruction of the USA, we have new material which we have poured our hearts into them and they hopefully will be available in the summer as our debut album. We want to thank everyone who has supported at gigs or through myspace you have kept us going through the hard times and rocked with us in the good.
During the past year the band had a couple of try outs for the position of singer and landed one, which lets face it, never worked out and during this time the band became unstable and the members were not trusting one another but with the singer and bass player gone We found Ourselves with only a lead guitarist (Mark Edwards), rythym guitarist (Adam Hall) and drummer (Dave Hornby). as a last resort, Adam was decided upon and trusted to become front man for this band and with hunger in their blood and passion for music in their hearts they set out searching for a replacement bass player.
it wasnt long before the band struck gold over the internet with a flood of adverts to get through one stuck out beyond the rest one which shown a great love for music, His name was Ben. Ben was quick to answer the calling and later found himself to be practicing with the band, it was a promising start for Ben as he got on well with the other members and also liked what he was hearing, so as a couple of weeks passed and a couple of practices later Mark, Adam & Dave decided it was time to make Ben a permanent fixture
Shortly after Ben’s arrival and the bands first gig, Mark decided he had to leave due to unforseen personal problems, this left the band in need of a guitarist. At this point in time the band thought hard about how they would approach this situation and decided to bring in two guitarists, it was gonna be hard but they never back down from a challenge.
After numerous bulletins posted on myspace, musician forums and word of mouth, we had quite a few possibilities. The person who took on the challenge was a guy named Alistair who decided he could add to the ever evolving sound of the band and came to practice one night to show off his silky skills on the fret board.
That night the band gelled really well and it kick started a good chain of events for the band. Mark had overcome the battle with his personal problem and decided it was time for him to come back, so now we have a new guitarist and Mark back and with both guitars the band has a more fuller, heavier sound to it.
