This is Kalium. The "band" consists of me, my 8-guitar, bass and a drum sequencer. My music pretty much reflects what is going on inside my head, as I find that I can often express emotions through art better than words. I'm currently working on an Album right now, and will post different snippets of songs (or even entire songs) while the album is in the works. Any questions, comments or if you might be interested in buying the album, just send me a message. "2012: The End Is Near" will be out soon, and hopefully before the apocalypse arrives.

Here to answer some questions people have been asking me:
Q: Do you have a full recording studio in your basement?! A: I have neither a full recording studio, nor a basement : All recordings are done by me in my small dorm room using a Line6 TonePort UX1, my Agile 8-string Intrepid guitar, some no-name kid bass guitar I borrowed from my little brother (who is now learning guitar and is slowly getting better than me, and he's only 14... goddammit!), Drumkit from Hell and a crappy mic (soon to be replaced).
Q: Do you really believe the world will end in 2012?! A: Of course not. It has been long proven that the Mayan calender does not say that the world will end in 2012, but rather, that the calender will go into a new cycle. Kinda like how the world doesn't end every year on December 31st, but rather goes into a new year. The album is rather telling a fictional story of the end of the world, about a person who survives the apocalypse and what it has shown him. It is a metaphor for my own experiences in the past years, and it's kindof a mix between a coming of age and a love story. With explosions, comets raining from the sky and the destruction of humanity :batman:
Q: What does "Kalium" mean? A: Kalium is the German word for the element potassium. Try throwing some in water. Go on, I dare you (you wont be allowed to buy potassium, anyways, and if you are, you know what happens when you mix potassium with water )
Q: Will you be selling the album? A: This is something I haven't quite decided yet. The current plan is to offer a hard copy of the album + album art (and possibly a DVD with.... stuff) for 8-10 Euros (depends on how much mastering will set me back), but to also offer the songs for download on iTunes and also have a couple of unmastered tracks for free on myspace, my band profile and normal profile.
Q: Why not just offer the album for free? A: Because I'm investing hundreds of Euros in this album (also I'm a greedy bastard)
Q: Do you like Meshuggah? A: An unavoidable question when playing an 8-string. Yes, I like Meshuggah. Does my music sound like Meshuggah? You tell me.
Q: Who are your influences? A: I'd say my biggest influences guitarwise are Daron Malakian (SOAD) and Adam Jones (Tool) for guitar, and John Paul Jones for Bass. As far as production and mixing goes, I'd say Devin Townsend is my definate favorite. For doing everything himself, his recordings are awesome. Cloudkicker is another fav of mine.
Q: Why do you write so much? A: Because I'm bored at work, dammit!
Current Track List of Album:
Changing the track list around, as some songs are going absolutely nowhere, especially the faster thrash songs. They just don't fit in the flow with the others, will update as soon as I've figured this out
